This renovation represented a sort of challenge for the studio, namely meeting the needs of the client to create four different dwelling units, but still maintaining the typical characteristics of a Piedmont style building.
The internal arrangement did not disrupt the external look of the façade, which was enhanced with traditional architectural elements.
Part of the lofts had to be demolished in order to comply with the current prevailing standards on internal room heights. In this portion of the building, the choice was made to leave the covering exposed in order to maximize the aesthetic effect of the wood roof.
